PSAT Information
The PSAT/NMSQT is the Preliminary (or practice) SAT in addition to the National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test. Taking the PSAT is a way to prepare students for the SAT, and even the ACT. It is similar in format and shows what to expect when taking the SAT or ACT. PSAT scores are also used to identify National Merit Scholars and award merit scholarships, once the top scores are identified.
The PSAT is adminstered at our school every year on a Saturday. See the Fact Sheet link below for this year's details and how students register and pay through the Continuing Education registration link. We encourage college-bound students to take the PSAT to gauge as to where they stand as far scoring on the SAT, and also shows them where their strengths and weaknesses are to prepare further for the SAT. More information can be found on the PSAT Fact Sheet Link.
Any Junior that is on Free or Reduced Lunch can register for the PSAT at no charge. See your counselor or Mrs. Martin in the College and Career Center to be added to the list of registrants.
