Graduation Questions:
- When is Graduation?
- Graduation is Saturday, June 24, 2023 at 7 p.m.
- Where is graduation?
- Graduation will be held at: Rochester Institute of Technology, Gordon Field House
- When do I get my cap and gown?
- Cap & Gown distribution will be during lunches on June 5 and June 6 if they are PAID FOR.

- If you do not pick up on these dates, you will receive it at Graduation Rehearsal

- What if I have not ordered my cap and gown?
- Call Jostens at (585) 377-4778 or go to Jostens.com
- How many guests can I bring to graduation?
- You will receive 8 tickets this year for graduation. If you need extra tickets, there will be a process for that at rehearsal. All reasonable requests will be honored.
- What time do I need to be at RIT?
- Graduates need to be at RIT by 6 p.m.
- How do graduates get into the venue?
- Graduates need to enter the Gordon Field House through the LOWER LEVEL ONLY
- What time will guests be able to arrive at RIT
- Doors open at 5:30 p.m.
- How do guests get into the venue?
- Entrance to the event for guests is at the North West Corner of the venue, near Lot-D on the UPPER LEVEL of the Field House.
- How long will the graduation ceremony take?
- The graduation ceremony will run approximately 1.5-2 hours.
- What should I wear?
- You should wear semi-formal attire under your cap and gown.
- You cannot decorate your cap under any circumstances!
- Make sure you are wearing your cap, gown and tassel when you arrive!
- Is there mobility impaired seating available?
- Yes, RIT has ADA compliant seating.
- Will there be a sign language interpreter?
- Yes, and spectators with this need should sit in seating area 102
- Where should we park?
- Parking is available in lots G and H with a shuttle.
- Handicap Accessible Parking will be on the East end of D-lot directly in front of the Field House. You MUST have your handicap tag displayed to get into this lot.
- Are there any restriction or prohibited items?
- RIT has security procedures in place for this year’s graduation ceremony. Anyone entering the Gordon Field House will go through metal detectors and may be “wanded” before allowed entry. All bags will be checked as well. This means that everyone will be scanned with a metal detector.
- Items that jeopardize the safety, viewing, listening pleasure, or enjoyment of other Guest are prohibited. In accordance with the venue policy and security guidelines, items not allowed into Gordon Field House include but are not limited to: helium balloons, ‘silly string’, confetti, beach balls or other inflatable items, alcoholic beverages, outside food or beverages, bullhorns, noisemakers, and laser pointers. RIT Public Safety & Field House management reserve the right to remove any items it deems a violation of its venue policy and security guidelines
Graduation Rehearsal Questions:
- When is the graduation rehearsal?
- Rehearsal is Wednesday, June 21, 2023 at 7:45 a.m. and will begin with breakfast in Cafeteria A.
- You must be on time. Buses will leave immediately following some brief announcements. Buses will return by 10:45 a.m.
- Is graduation rehearsal mandatory?
- YES! You cannot participate in the graduation ceremony if you are not at rehearsal.
- All seniors MUST ride the bus from Churchville-Chili to RIT. You are responsible for your own transportation home from the high school following rehearsal.
- What if I have a Regents exam scheduled the morning of June 21, 2023?
- If you are scheduled to take the Algebra II Regents Exam, we will contact you and make arrangements for you to have all the information you need for graduation.
- When will I receive my tickets for graduation guests?
- You will receive your tickets at the end of graduation rehearsal. This is the ONLY time to get your tickets.
- What do I need to bring to rehearsal?
- Just yourself!
- Please DO NOT bring your cap, gown or tassel!
- What will we do at rehearsal?
- You will meet your Graduation Marshal - the adult who will make sure you know what to do for the ceremony.
- We will go through the entire ceremony so you are prepared.
