Emergency Closings

If it becomes necessary to close school because of adverse weather conditions or other emergencies, announcements will be made on local radio and television stations as well as posted online at www.cccsd.org, Facebook and on X (formerly Twitter) at @CCCSDtweets. The district will also use the Instant Connect phone notification system to share messages regarding closings.

Should it be necessary to close school during the day, an announcement will be made as soon as possible through these communication channels. Parents and students are asked to refrain from calling the school or the local media if such closings should become necessary.

Upon returning to school from a canceled school day, the next school day will have the same number as the canceled school day. For example, if Monday was a day 1, and Tuesday was canceled for an emergency, when we return to school on Wednesday, it would be considered Day 2.
